Affiliate Commission Tax Invoices & Receipts (Italy)
Before we start: notice on tax info sharing
Tax info sharing with sellers
Pre-collaboration: Only your VAT status (whether you have provided a VAT number) is shown to sellers to support collaboration decisions.
Post-collaboration: Your tax information (including TIN, VAT number, legal name, and residential address) is shared with sellers you collaborate with via creator commission receipts. This provides proof of payment and allows sellers to use receipts for applicable tax deductions.
We will not share your tax information with agencies.
Invoice authorization
You authorize a third-party service provider to issue invoices for your creator services to sellers on your behalf. This means you won't need to issue invoices yourself.
Opt-out
Manage sharing at any time via TikTok Shop Creator Center > Settings > Privacy Settings > Manage tax info sharing and invoice authorization > Authorize TikTok Shop to issue your receipts to sellers / Authorize a third-party provider to issue your invoices to sellers.
If you opt out, your tax information will not be shared with sellers, your VAT status will be shown as "unavailable", and you will no longer authorize the service provider to issue invoices to sellers on your behalf.
This will not affect your ability to promote products or withdraw funds. You can still provide your tax information and issue invoices directly to sellers.
You can re-enable tax info sharing (in which case we will re-issue historical creator commission receipts with your tax information included) and invoice issuing authorization at any time.Summary
TikTok Shop can now facilitate Italian electronic invoices (fatture elettroniche) and commission receipts on your behalf through a regulated tax and invoicing service provider, Fonoa. For Italy, compliant invoices are mandatory, issued on a weekly cadence every Wednesday, and validated through the Italian government exchange Sistema di Interscambio (SdI), which is operated by the Agenzia delle Entrate (Revenue Agency). Authorize the service once in your Creator profile, keep your tax information up to date, and the paperwork is handled for you.1. Overview
If you're a TikTok Shop creator in Italy earning affiliate commissions, you may need to provide sellers with compliant tax documents for the commissions you earn. In Italy, this is more than a standard invoice workflow: invoices must generally be issued as fatture elettroniche and validated through SdI, the mandatory centralized electronic invoicing platform operated by the Italian tax authority, Agenzia delle Entrate.Starting end July 2026, TikTok Shop is partnering with Fonoa, a regulated tax and invoicing service provider, to handle this process for you.
Once you authorize the service, Fonoa can automatically issue Italian e-invoices if you hold a valid Partita IVA, and commission receipts. You stay in control of the authorization and receive a copy of every document issued on your behalf.
Who is this for?TikTok Shop creators in Italy who earn affiliate commissions and want TikTok Shop to help handle compliant Italian e-invoicing and receipts for them.
2. Problem it solves
Under the TikTok Shop affiliate setup, creators are responsible for providing sellers with the right tax documentation for earned commissions. In Italy, that can be especially complex because:📄 Italian e-invoicing is mandatoryA compliant Italian invoice is not just a PDF. It must be issued as a fattura elettronica and validated through SdI, the mandatory centralized electronic invoicing platform.
⏱️ The cadence is weeklyItaly requires a weekly issuing cadence aligned with commission calculation periods, with documents issued every Wednesday.🧾 Seller VAT details matterIf the seller has no VAT number, an Italian e-invoice cannot be generated for that transaction. A receipt may still be available where authorized.
⚖️ Creator tax status mattersSpecial VAT regimes such as regime forfettario need to be handled according to the creator's tax status.
By letting TikTok Shop facilitate e-invoices and receipts through Fonoa, the heavy compliance work is handled for you. Sellers get the documents they need, and you can focus on creating shoppabe content!
3. How it Works
Step 1 — Check if the service is authorized
How you authorize the service depends on whether you're new to TikTok Shop or already active:- If you're a new creator: these two authorization toggles are presented during onboarding and are enabled by default as part of your initial setup.
- If you're an existing creator: you will receive an in-app notification and a red dot on Settings indicating that authorization has been enabled by default on your account. You can review and opt out at any time.Authorization settings
Authorization toggle | What it does for you |
| Authorise TTS to Issue Receipts to Sellers | Lets TikTok Shop show your tax information on commission receipts issued to sellers. Available whether or not you have a Partita IVA. |
| Authorise Third-party Provider to Issue Invoices to Sellers | Lets Fonoa issue compliant Italian e-invoices to sellers on your behalf and submit them through SdI for validation. Relevant if you are VAT-registered. |
Step 2 — Add your Partita IVA if registered
If you hold a Partita IVA, add your VAT number in Creator app → Settings → Tax Information. This is required for Fonoa to issue and validate an Italian e-invoice on your behalf. No Partita IVA? No e-invoice can be generated on your behalf. You can still authorize receipts, which document your commissions, but receipts are not a substitute for an Italian e-invoice.
Step 3 — TikTok Shop and Fonoa handle the weekly cycle
Once you're authorized, the service runs automatically each cycle:- Onboard — if you're VAT-registered and have authorized invoice issuance, you're registered with Fonoa as a valid invoicing entity.
- Calculate — at each weekly cycle close, your commissions are aggregated and Fonoa determines the correct Italian VAT treatment based on your tax status and the seller scenario.
- Issue and validate — Fonoa generates the fattura elettronica and submits it to SdI. Once validated by SdI, the compliant e-invoice is made available to the seller and to you. Documents are issued every Wednesday, and your e-invoice is delivered to you as an XML file and a PDF, with a consolidated Excel summary also available covering your invoices for the period.
- Provide receipts where applicable — authorized creators can also receive commission receipts. If an e-invoice cannot be generated, such as when the seller has no VAT number, a receipt may still be available.
4. Italy-specific Rules You Should Know
- Mandatory e-invoicing via SdI
- Weekly issuing cadence
- If the seller has no VAT number
- If the seller does not have a VAT number, an e-invoice cannot be generated through SdI for that transaction.
- A receipt can still be provided where authorized.
- You may need to handle any separate reporting obligations yourself, depending on your situation. If unsure, consult a qualified Italian tax advisor.
- Special VAT regimes such as regime forfettario
Important: Keep your tax information accurate in your Creator profile. TikTok Shop and Fonoa facilitate documentation based on the data you provide; they do not provide tax advice for your personal situation.
5. Italy Tax Treatment by Scenario
Two scenarios drive whether and how an Italian e-invoice or receipt is issued on your behalf.- Same-country supply: you and the seller are both in Italy. Italian VAT treatment applies, and a compliant Italian e-invoice is issued via SdI if you have a valid Partita IVA and have authorized invoice issuance.
- Cross-border (within Europe or to a non-EU seller): if the seller is based elsewhere in Europe or outside the EU, an invoice is always issued — at 0% VAT, with the seller self-accounting for VAT where applicable — subject to the seller's VAT details being correctly provided..
6. What We Share with Fonoa

7. What Sellers See About You
Once authorized, your status can surface to sellers in Find Creators, Sample Management, and your Creator Detail page, and sellers can filter for creators based on these tags when deciding who to work with:Tag | When it appears |
| VAT eligible | You have a valid VAT registration / Partita IVA. |
| Invoice available | You are VAT-registered and have authorized third-party invoice issuance. |
| Receipt information authorized | You have authorized TikTok Shop to show your tax information on receipts. |

9. FAQs
Q1. Do I have to authorize this? No. Authorization is opt-in and reversible. However, if you have a Partita IVA and work with sellers who need compliant Italian e-invoices, authorizing the service makes the process much easier.Q2. I don't have a Partita IVA. What happens? No e-invoice can be generated on your behalf. You can still authorize receipts, which document your commissions, but receipts are not a substitute for an Italian e-invoice.
Q3. What is SdI?SdI, or Sistema di Interscambio, is the Italian government exchange used to validate electronic invoices. For Italy, Fonoa submits the e-invoice through SdI so it can become a compliant fattura elettronica.
Q4. Why are Italy documents issued weekly?Italy uses a weekly issuing cadence because invoice timing is closely linked to when the creator service is performed and when commissions are calculated.
Q5. What if the seller has no VAT number? If the seller isn't VAT registered, no e-invoice will be issued through SdI for that transaction. A receipt can still be provided where authorized. As a creator, you may need to report the transaction through the relevant domestic reporting system (e.g. Esterometro, where applicable). Depending on your situation, you may also need to handle separate invoicing/reporting obligations yourself.
Q6. I'm on regime forfettario. Does this still work?Yes. Fonoa applies the appropriate treatment based on your creator tax status, including special regimes such as regime forfettario. Make sure your tax information in your Creator profile is accurate.
Q7. Will Fonoa charge me?No. TikTok Shop covers the cost of the Fonoa service. There is no fee to creators.
Q8. Does this change how much commission I earn? No. Your commission rates and payouts are unchanged. The e-invoice or receipt documents the transaction and applies the correct tax treatment where relevant.
Q9. Will I get a copy of the documents?Yes. Every e-invoice or receipt issued on your behalf is delivered to you as well.
Q10. Can a wrong e-invoice be corrected and reissued?Corrected invoice reissuance is not currently supported. This is why it is important to keep your tax information accurate before documents are generated.
Q11. Does this cover all of my income? No. It only covers affiliate commissions including Affiliate commission and Ads commission. Other income streams remain your own responsibility.
